Job Overview: As the Building Maintenance Technician, you will partner with the Building Engineer to ensure the building and facility is livable, safe and compliant by performing regular inspections, preventive, routine maintenance and repairs.
Compensation: $28+ per hour, depending on experience
FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Your Responsibilities: - Ensure building and systems are maintained properly and in safe working order (i.e. mechanical systems, electrical, fire safety, access control, HVAC/ chiller boiler, sprinkler systems, etc)
- Maintain recreational amenities (i.e. pool and spa, lounge areas, dog park, common areas)
- Assist in maintaining the common areas by picking up any trash and debris
- Conduct routine inspections
- Manage preventive inspection and maintenance schedule and corresponding work
- Keep accurate operational, maintenance and repair logs
- Help coordinate and perform modifications and improvements
- Schedule and coordinate state inspections of building and equipment (annual fire system testing, elevator inspections, recall testing, etc.)
- Ensure emergency maintenance situations are handled timely and properly
- Maintain an emergency response plan, including vendors and other necessary contacts
Skills and Qualifications: - Organized, with the ability to prioritize and adjust to incoming demands
- Able to use tools, equipment and chemicals safely
- Able to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions in a timely and effective manner
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Superb attention to detail
Education and Experience: - 2+ years of commercial, residential, high-rise or HOA maintenance experience a plus
- Trade school experience (preferred)
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to perform in various weather conditions (i.e. rain, heat, cold, wind, etc)
- Must be able to respond to on-site emergencies on night, holidays and/ or weekends as needed
Work Location: Phoenix, AZ
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day
