Position Summary :

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Project Associate.

The Community Health Worker Research & Resource Center (CHW-RRC) at NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Department of Population Health is seeking a bilingual Project Associate for a part-time position between October 2025-September 2026.

The Project Associate will contribute to ongoing research at the CHW-RRC aimed at better understanding the landscape of the CHW workforce and CHW employers in New York State. This will include supporting all aspects of the research, including assistance with and participation in Advisory Committee meetings, development of study tools, and conducting interviews with community health workers. The position is based in New York City.

Job Responsibilities :

• Participate on Community Advisory Board
• Review and test survey instruments
• Develop and test Community Health Worker interview guide
• Help identify study participants and recruitment strategies
• Conduct Community Health Worker interviews in English and Spanish
• Assist with data analysis and report writing
• Co-present and disseminate results

Minimum Qualifications :

To qualify you must have a Associate's degree is required. Must be able to commit part-time (10 hours / week) employment for the duration of the study period. At least 3-years experience as a Community Health Worker or similar role. Bilingual Spanish-English. Knowledge of CHW policies and / or advocacy in New York State. Experience conducting interviews. Experience with community outreach, community-based work, or research involving community health workers.

Preferred Qualifications :

CITI human subjects training certificate. Working knowledge of REDCap. Experience and / or interest advocating on behalf of CHWs in New York State. Strong communication, interpersonal, writing, and organizational skills. Effective time management; able to work both independently and collaboratively. Commitment to using research to improve health for populations who have been marginalized. Interest in advancing health equity through community-based research, health policy, and advocacy. Approaches challenges with curiosity, accountability, and a learning mindset.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $13,810.29-$18,621.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
