Job Description
The Assistant Controller will be responsible for coordination of critical accounting functions including directing and reviewing financial activities, year-end audit, and overseeing monthly, quarterly, and year-end close. The Assistant Controller will be responsible for coordinating the distribution of routine financial reports and working directly with department leaders, to present and analyze monthly financial results.
The Assistant Controller will lead critical accounting changes, process improvement projects and accounting software implementations. The Assistant Controller will use industry knowledge, soft skills, and technical abilities to effectively mentor, train, and develop accounting staff to maximize output.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Master’s degree in accounting, preferred. CPA is strongly preferred.
- 5 – 7 years of progressive accounting work experience
- High proficiency in Excel (V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Macros).
- Preferred familiarity with Net Suite or similar accounting software
- Knowledge of multi-currency transactions
Job Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting in the preparation and presentation of financial reports including monthly and annual accounts.Accounting liaison to the company’s department leaders.Responsible for financial closing and the general ledger including balance sheet account reconciliations.Create and maintain standard operating procedures related to all aspects of Finance and Accounting functions; as well as provide input on areas for improvement with particular focus to include month-end closing process and internal controls.Oversight of the interim and year-end audit process including audit report review.Assist in implementing automation projects to promote better efficiencies and reduce manual transactions.Develop accounting staff including training, assignment and monitoring of tasks, knowledge transfer and evaluating performance.Maintain and update departmental process and procedure manuals.Support Controller in ad hoc requests or special projects, as assigned.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
