Responsibilities and Expectations

• Primary Responsibilities :
• Provide expert surgical care in cardiothoracic cases
• Manage post-operative care and monitoring of patients in the cardiac ICU
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care
• Available for on-call duties as per the scheduled rota

Schedule and Coverage

• Shift Details :
• Call-only coverage
• Must be available for holidays : New Year's Day, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
• Expected to handle 1-3 patients per shift
• Bed in Department : 365-8 bed cardiac ICU
• No outpatient or routine rounding duties required

Practice Details

• EMR System : Cerner
• Practice Environment : Strictly inpatient, focusing on critical and surgical cases
• Patients Per Shift : 1-3
• Special Requirements :
• Must have CA licensure, CA Fluoroscopy license, CA DEA
• Clean medical malpractice history
• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic, Cardiovascular, or Thoracic Surgery

Requirements and Qualifications

• Certifications :
• Board Certified in Cardiothoracic, Cardiovascular, or Thoracic Surgery required
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required
• BLS, ACLS, ATLS certifications are not required for this role
• Licensing : Must be licensed to practice in California
• Experience : Extensive experience in complex cardiothoracic procedures preferred
