Advanced Practice Provider - General Surgery

Join the Hartford Hospital General Surgery team, where you'll have the opportunity to practice at your full scope and engage in advanced surgeries unique to the area! As an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), you'll be a key clinical team member, consistently working in the OR and first-assisting in a diverse range of robotic surgeries. Our specialties include emergency general surgery, bariatric, colorectal, minimally invasive, and hepatobiliary surgeries. With an upcoming robotic training program, you will have access to perform cutting-edge robotic procedures.

Position Details:

Role: Open to Physician Assistants and Acute Care Nurse Practitioners

Location: 79 Jefferson Street, Hartford, 06102

Setting: Inpatient, general surgery

Schedule: Full-time, 3x13 hour shifts. Mainly Monday-Friday 6am-7:30pm. Premium differentials offered.

Call schedule: No call

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform routine physical exams and develop thorough medical, educational, and psychosocial care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians and care teams to assess health needs and make referrals to specialists as necessary.
• Provide treatment for conditions within your defined practice scope and appropriately refer concerns outside of your expertise to physicians.

Qualifications:

• Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible).
• Training: Certified or board-eligible Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
• Experience: New graduates welcome to apply.

Preferred:

• 2+ years of experience as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in a surgical setting.
