This role is responsible for the planning, implementation, and delivery of speech pathology services. The aim is to ensure positive patient outcomes. The Speech-Language Pathologist assists in compiling reports and data as needed. Responsibilities include the evaluation and treatment of disorders affecting speech, language, voice, swallowing, and cognitive-communicative functions. This encompasses both inpatient and outpatient populations. The position requires contact with patients and families, necessitating skill in communication, motivation, and teaching. Collaboration with medical staff, department managers, nursing personnel, and administration is essential. The Speech-Language Pathologist uses numerous expensive and complex instruments. Reporting maintenance needs and ensuring annual calibration is part of the role. Work is expected Monday through Friday and may include weekends as needed.
