Description

  • Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and elderly populations employing both standardized evaluations and observational methods.
  • Design tailored treatment plans that cater to both immediate objectives and overarching communication or swallowing challenges.
  • Conduct one-on-one speech therapy sessions targeting language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
  • Work collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop unified care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to enhance their progress outside of clinical environments.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout the recovery journey.
  • Maintain clear and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and institutional regulations.
  • Stay updated on advancements within the field through ongoing education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is pending.
  • Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for clients across all ages, with deep knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Capacity to adapt therapeutic approaches to serve various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable managing electronic health records and adhering to documentation standards.
