Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS (VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch). Proficiency in troubleshooting networking concepts (TCP / IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers). Familiarity with CI / CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI / CD, AWS CodePipeline). Working knowledge of security hardening (STIGs, CIS benchmarks) and RMF controls. Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills. Familiarity with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS / EKS). Experience with AWS GovCloud or classified AWS regions. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or Solutions Architect Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Security+, CISSP, or equivalent DoD 8570 certification. Exposure to monitoring tools (Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios). Job Title : Senior Software Developer Location : Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL 35898 Security Clearance : Top-Secret Clearance Salary : Up to $150,000 per year (based on experience) Job Type : Full-time, Onsite Paid Time Off (PTO) : 3 weeks of PTO (including sick leave). Unused PTO is paid out at the end of the year. Holidays : 2 floating holidays and eight public holidays per year. Health & Dental Insurance : The company covers 50% of employee health and dental insurance (dependents may be added at an extra cost). Coverage becomes effective after 30 days. Job Description : We are seeking an experienced Senior Linux System Administrator with proven expertise in AWS cloud environments to support mission-critical systems within a classified defense program.
This position is fully onsite in Huntsville, AL, supporting a federal intel agency
The ideal candidate has deep experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or similar distributions, implementing automation and infrastructure-as-code solutions, and maintaining high-availability, secure cloud environments in compliance with DoD security standards.
Responsibilities :
- Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) in classified and unclassified environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, RDS, EFS).
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
- Monitor system performance, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement performance tuning.
- Patch and harden Linux systems to meet DISA STIG and RMF compliance requirements.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies in accordance with DoD standards.
- Support and integrate CI / CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure continuous monitoring and incident response.
- Participate in Agile / Scrum sprints, providing infrastructure support to development and QA teams.
