Ascent Behavioral Hospital is seeking a Clinical Director for our Millcreek, UT location to lead and oversee our team of licensed therapists while ensuring excellence across the full continuum of care—from admission through discharge and transition to the next level of treatment. This distinctive leadership role provides the opportunity to drive patient safety, assure quality, and monitor clinical outcomes while delivering compassionate and developmentally appropriate care to adolescents.
About Ascent Behavioral Hospital
At Ascent Behavioral Hospital, we provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to adolescents navigating challenges related to anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation within a safe and supportive environment. We are committed to the highest standards of integrity, respect, and excellence, and we foster a culture grounded in collaboration, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead, develop, and set the clinical vision for our Clinical Department. In this role, you will work alongside and provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and guidance to a multidisciplinary team of licensed therapists. As a key member of the hospital’s Leadership Team, the Clinical Director is responsible not only for day-to-day clinical operations, but also for ensuring thoughtful, timely, and coordinated discharge planning as an integral component of treatment.
The Clinical Director will oversee the development and execution of individualized treatment plans that emphasize stabilization, family engagement, and readiness for discharge. This includes collaborating closely with psychiatry, nursing, case management, families, schools, and external providers to ensure safe transitions, appropriate aftercare placement, and continuity of services following hospitalization. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage clinical risk, resolve conflicts, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain accurate and timely documentation.
The ultimate objective of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of the Clinical Department while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care that promotes stabilization during hospitalization and supports successful continuation of care beyond discharge.
