Position Overview

Kiewit Industrial & Water Engineering (KIWE) is seeking an entry-level Process Engineer to be a part of our growing Engineering team that is developing industrial and water infrastructure solutions across North America. Looking for ideal candidates to grow the KIWE team by helping with the execution and evaluation of project designs. You will work independently on small projects, or as a part of a large multi-discipline team on larger projects, to develop conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project execution using current drawing and technical tools / programs / software with a focus on design documentation creation / layout.

Location

This position is based in our Lenexa, KS or Lone Tree, CO office.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design support for domestic and / or international EPC / EPCm / DB projects whose responsibilities include but not limited to engineering studies, environmental permitting, conceptual and detailed design, plant layouts for industrial water / wastewater systems, water / wastewater treatment systems, desalination systems, biogas, bulk solids material handling, pump stations and pipeline conveyance, groundwater remediation, stormwater recycling, and other industrial facilities including, but not limited to, process piping, conveying systems, dust collection, general plant / facility utilities, compressed air, steam, and gas systems, on projects ranging from moderate to large in size and complexity.
• Develop and prepare water mass balances, process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for system technologies including coagulation, flocculation, filtration, reverse osmosis (industrial and desalination), ion exchange, condensate polishing, wastewater treatment, chemical handling / storage / injection, sampling and analysis and other industrial systems including, but not limited to, bulk solids conveyors, dust collection equipment, bins / tanks, pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, and other process equipment.
• Develop and prepare design calculations and specifications for major engineered equipment associated with the above-stated technologies.
• Develop and prepare design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements, and company standards.
• Assist in the preparation, monitoring, and updating of project plans, schedules, and budgets in coordination with project discipline leadership to ensure successful project completion.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners including cross-discipline, construction, vendors, and fabricator(s) to address process-related issues or concerns.
• Support department managers in achieving performance goals for the department.

Other Requirements :

Base Compensation : $88,660 - $98,020
