Principal Systems Analyst (Java, SQL, REST APIs)

Job Description : The Role

As a Systems Analyst on the Fidelity Insurance Agency (FIA) Record Keeping Platform Team within the Core Wealth Platform Product Area you will support multiple squad initiatives aimed at growing our core business and scaling our technology. In this role you will focus on the platform health and modernization efforts of the applications and systems supporting the Fidelity Insurance Agency (FIA). Specifically you will drive initiatives supporting carrier product launches advisor compensation management and tool integration and maintenance of FIN data.

The Expertise You Have :

8 years professional experience as a Systems Analyst for software solutions

Proven experience researching optimizing developing and authoring solution requirements user stories and specifications for moderate to complex software systems

Proven experience with Structured Query Language (SQL) and programming in general

Strong understanding and experience with complex relational database schemas and SQL management tools

Proven experience working with REST SOAP JSON and APIs

Proven experience with Agile development methodologies

Deep knowledge of scrum tools Jira experience desirable

Excellent analytical skills

Good knowledge of Behavior Driven Development Gherkin / Cucumber

Release coordination

Be able to articulate complex system interactions through diagrams and crisp documentation to a wide spectrum of audiences

Ability to understand the technical aspects of the software including understanding of code to be able to understand the business logic understand technical architecture

Produce artifacts business flow diagrams

Have good understanding of solution architecture and partner with Architects Business Analysts and tech leads

Have end to end knowledge of system interactions and be able to articulate well to different audiences both technical and non-technical

Prod incidents analysis Splunk queries build dashboards / alerts

Bachelors Degree Computer Science or related technology discipline

The Team

You will be a member of the Core Wealth Platform Area. Your primary focus will be supporting the platform health growth scale and modernization efforts of the platform application and systems supporting the Fidelity Insurance Agency (FIA). In this role you will partner with a variety of key stakeholders including other squads withing the Platform Area Wealth Digital Experience FIA and Brokerage partners.
