Job Title : Staff Accountant

Department : Accounting / Finance

Reports To : Accounting Manager

Job Summary :

The Staff Accountant is an entry-level accounting position responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the finance department. This role provides hands-on experience in general accounting, reconciliations, data entry, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and ready to build a strong foundation in accounting principles while supporting key financial processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

Post daily cash receipts to the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of all incoming payments.

Assist with administrative financial tasks such as credit card, cell phone, and fleet management.

Prepare selected work papers and reporting documents for management and auditors.

Code and record credit card transactions in accordance with company policy.

Assist with the preparation of journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

Assist with account reconciliations (bank accounts, prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, etc.).

Assist with financial statement preparation and variance analysis.

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.

Monitor and analyze expense reports and budget variances.

Handle special projects or ad hoc analysis as assigned by management.

Qualifications :

Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Work Environment :

Office with the option of one hybrid day weekly

Standard business hours

High School Diploma or equivalent 1-2 years accounting experience Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
