Position Summary :
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Transplant Coordinator, Registered Nurse- Heart Transplant.
In this role, the successful candidate The Transplant Nurse Coordinator is an important member of the multidisciplinary transplant team. The Coordinator is responsible for overseeing care for organ transplant candidates, and is responsible for : collecting clinical information about patients and potential donors, summarizing medical data, and presenting information to the transplant team; arranging diagnostic testing and treatment procedures for patients; providing education to patients and families about transplantation; interfacing with multiple providers to ensure optimal pre and post-transplant care; participating in a team that provides 24 hour on call coverage of patient related phone calls.

Minimum Qualifications :
To qualify you must have a Licensure : Current registration as Professional Nurse in New York and if appropriate, registration as Nurse Practitioner in
New York;Education : Master's Degree in Nursing. If a nurse practitioner, establishes a written Collaborative Practice
Agreement with an NYUHC attending physician in the Department of Transplant Surgery. Credentialed through the
Credentialing Committee of the Medical Board with Delineation of Privilege approved with role specific treatment
privileges;Certification required : CCTC after one year in role, ANCC or Board Certification from other specialty
organization that certifies Nurse Practitioners in a clinical area of practice if appropriate; BCLS, ACLS PRI
Certification / Screening is optional;Competence : At least five years of clinical nursing practice, ability to apply nursing
process toward achievement of specific outcomes in an organized fashion, which addresses patient / family safety and
satisfaction. Previous experience in transplantation or critical care is preferred. Evidence of excellent interpersonal and
communication skills, creative problem solving and excellent critical thinking and leadership. Previously demonstrated
ability to facilitate group processes and work cohesively and collaboratively as member of the interdisciplinary team.
Effective change agent. Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities.
Required Licenses : Registered Nurse License-NYS
Preferred Qualifications :
Membership in NATCO, ITNS desirable

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $125,730.84 - $150,480.84 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses / incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
