Tax Accountant

Overview

The Opportunity : My client, a publicly traded diversified energy company, headquartered in Western New York, is looking to add a Tax Accountant to their accounting / finance team. This position is a great career opportunity for an accomplished tax accounting professional to leverage their experience and create a career path for growth. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. The role offers a highly competitive compensation package, including base salary, annual bonus program and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the preparation of the monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate income tax provisions, the related financial statement analysis and required SEC disclosures
• Provide support for preparation of federal and state corporate income tax returns
• Tax planning projects designed to maximize cash flow and minimize effective tax rate
• Assist in Federal and state income tax audits including preparation of responses to data requests and notices received
• Testing and documentation of internal controls under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and updating tax processes and controls, as needed

Qualifications

At this time, the good faith estimate of the annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $130,000, plus annual bonus potential and a comprehensive benefits package. Where a successful applicant is slotted within this range will vary based on legitimate criteria, such as professional experience, licensures, industry specific experience and education level.
