Location : Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital, San Antonio, Texas

Salary Range : $209,000 to $231,000 annually. Based on Locality Pay and Years of Experience

The South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Endocrinologist to join our dynamic and collaborative team in San Antonio, Texas. This full-time opportunity offers the chance to provide high-quality care to our nation’s heroes while enjoying the exceptional lifestyle and cultural richness of South Texas.

Position Highlights

Clinical Responsibilities :

• Provide inpatient and outpatient Endocrinology consultations and follow-up care.
• Evaluate and manage a wide range of Endocrine disorders and diabetes, including advanced diabetes technologies.
• Perform and interpret specialized endocrine testing procedures.
• Proficiency performing thyroid ultrasounds and thyroid nodule biopsies (preferred).
• Utilize multiple care modalities : in-person visits, VA Video Connect (telehealth), telephone appointments, and e-consults.
• Engage in patient outreach, including follow-up on no-shows, abnormal test results, and medication refills.
• Supervise and mentor fellows, residents, students, mid-level providers, and registered nurses.
• Document all patient encounters in the VA’s electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with VA supervision guidelines.
• Participate in on-call rotations, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Contribute to Endocrinology fellowship program activities, including journal clubs, case conferences, and multidisciplinary teaching sessions.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and have the option to participate in research projects.
• Opportunity for clinical faculty appointment at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Change to "Opportunity for Adjoint Faculty appointment at the UT San Antonio Long School of Medicine".
