Imagine a place that sells everything from milk to Minnie Mouse ears, from sandwiches to sunscreen, from jelly beans to jewelry : Our Broad Creek Mercantile Shop is like an old-fashioned general store, with a wide assortment of things guests need combined with the Disney and Hilton Head-themed items guests want. You would be part of a team that does it all, from operating the cash register to stocking shelves, to light cleaning and most important, to interacting with our guests. Since the store is open seven days a week, candidates must be available days, evenings and weekends, and must be comfortable selling alcoholic beverages.
Responsibilities :
It goes without saying that job duties will include operating the point-of-sale system (cash register), handling cash, light cleaning and keeping shelves fully – and neatly – stocked with merchandise, but one of the most important parts of the job is offering the “Disney difference.” We call it “Merchantainment,” which means that along with providing a thoughtful assortment of items to buy, our Cast Members are also fully trained to provide information about all aspects of the resort to ensure that our guests have the absolute best vacation experience possible. It takes a special kind of person to do this well, so a friendly demeanor, positive attitude and the sincere desire to be helpful is a key part of the job.
