Role Description

This full-time, on-site Oncology Infusion Center Nurse position is located in Metairie, LA. The role involves administering chemotherapy and other infusion therapies, monitoring patients throughout their treatments, ensuring patient safety, and providing thorough education and support to oncology patients and their families. The nurse will collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, maintain accurate patient records, adhere to treatment protocols, and champion high standards of care in the Oncology Infusion Center.

Qualifications

• Clinical expertise in oncology, chemotherapy administration, and infusion therapy
• Strong patient care and communication skills to provide education and support in an empathetic manner
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical documentation and adhering to treatment protocols
• Knowledge of safety standards and the ability to respond to adverse reactions or emergencies
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification (preferred)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or associate degree in nursing with relevant experience
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Commitment to continuing education and staying updated on evidence-based oncology practices
