Hematology / Oncology Physician Job Details

Position Type : Locum tenens physician (travel contract)

Location : Cambridge, Ohio (43725) – Explore Ohio healthcare jobs in a charming city with historic sites, parks, and lakes

Schedule : 3 days per month (within a 1-week period), weekdays only

Shift : 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (8-hour day shifts)

Contract Duration : April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026 (13 weeks)

Estimated Weekly Salary : $140,000 - $150,000

Patient Population : Adults only

Healthcare Team Support : 2 Advanced Practice Providers, 1 Radiation Oncologist, and a dedicated RN

Physician Qualifications

Board Certification in Medical Oncology required; Hematology / Oncology board certification highly preferred

Active and unrestricted Physician license (Ohio preferred)

ACLS certification required for Moderate Sedation privileges

Minimum 1 year of clinical experience rounding on cancer patients in a medical oncology department

Proficiency with NCCN guidelines and chemotherapy management

Key Responsibilities

Deliver office-based care for adult hematology and oncology patients (60% Hematology / 40% Oncology)

Evaluate new patients needing chemotherapy and those with blood disorders

Develop and formalize treatment plans in accordance with NCCN guidelines

Place and manage orders, including chemotherapy reauthorizations

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure high-quality patient care

Manage a daily patient volume of 14-18, with up to 3 new patients per day

Common oncology cases include breast cancer and colon cancer

No procedural duties required
