Job Summary

Northern Trust is seeking a visionary and highly experienced Principal Cloud Architect to lead the design development and implementation of scalable secure and resilient cloud solutions. This role is pivotal in shaping our cloud strategy driving innovation and ensuring alignment with business goals. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in cloud architecture a strong understanding of enterprise IT and a passion for mentoring and guiding technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and Design : Lead the design of cloud-native and hybrid architectures that meet business security and compliance requirements.
• Strategy & Roadmap : Define and evolve the enterprise cloud strategy standards and best practices.
• Leadership : Serve as a technical leader and advisor across multiple teams influencing cloud adoption and modernization efforts.
• Innovation : Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
• Governance : Establish cloud governance frameworks cost optimization strategies and operational excellence.
• Collaboration : Work closely with engineering security DevOps and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Mentorship : Coach and mentor architects engineers and developers on cloud best practices and architectural patterns.

Background in regulated industries (e.g. finance healthcare government) is a plus

Salary Range : $137400 - 233600 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension) health and welfare benefits (medical dental vision spending accounts and disability) paid time off parental and caregiver leave life & accident insurance and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
