Join the NVFS Family : We are looking to hire a Primary Teacher to join the NVFS Early Childhood Education team! Early Head Start (EHS) is a federally funded community-based program serving below income families and their children from infants to the age of 3 years. The mission of Early Head Start is school readiness social / emotional development and promotion of heathy family functioning. Under the supervision of the Center Manager you as the Primary Teacher will ensure the safety of the children implement appropriate child activities and supervise each childs social / emotional development.

This position has a hourly rate of $19.62 and is an onsite role.

In this role you will :

• Implement classroom activities for each child in the class that provides a secure and enjoyable environment.
• Organize materials and furniture that supports active and quiet playtime that responds to each childs individual needs. Must be able to observe and evaluate each childs learning styles and behavior to determine their readiness for new learning opportunities.
• Create and maintain a positive work environment and a working relationship with teammates.
• Attendance reliability.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build trust and nurture relationships.
• Participate in regular supervision with supervisor by providing regular updates.
• Remain current on knowledge of standards and other information on program.
• Enter data for record keeping and reporting to meet federal guidelines.

Additional requirements :

Must be able to lift a child up to 40 pounds.

Must be comfortable coming into contact with sick children and taking care of toileting demands of children.
