The Quality Control Engineer (QCE) works closely with QC Inspectors, Sales, Purchasing, Quality, Compliance, and Customers / Vendors when necessary.
In this role, the QCE provides technical support to QC Inspectors and serves as the primary point of contact on the production floor when inspection issues arise. The QCE evaluates non-conformances, advises inspectors on proper inspection procedures, and determines whether observed anomalies are acceptable.
Essential Functions
- Investigate and inspect discrepant products from Purchase Orders, Sales Orders, and Customer Returns (including semiconductors, capacitors, and other passive components).
- Research datasheets using manufacturer websites
- Document findings with written reports and photographs, as applicable.
- Contact manufacturers via phone or email to confirm part information.
- Process and report non-conforming product in line with quality management system
- Address customer quality concerns and provide root cause analysis with corrective and preventive actions.
- Write and review operating procedures and work instructions aimed at process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.
- Cross-reference part numbers to identify suitable alternatives for customer needs.
- Respond to general inquiries regarding part markings and component identification.
- Populate and maintain internal databases.
- Train and educate QC Inspectors on inspection techniques and datasheet interpretation.
- Perform Out-of-Box Audits to ensure receiving, shipping, and QC teams follow proper inspection, testing, and shipping procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and testing support for corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Adhere to compliance ANSI ESD S20.20 requirements
- Work as a proactive team member to reach goals and KPI’s

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience3+ years of recent experience in Front-of-Line or End-of-Line semiconductor processes.Experience with die attach, wire bonding, molding, marking, solder ball attach, final visual inspection, and electronic component packaging preferred.Experience in a semiconductor or contract equipment manufacturing environment preferred.Basic knowledge of failure analysis techniques such as decapsulation, solderability testing, and basic electrical / functional testing.Ability to operate X-ray machines, decapsulation equipment, baking ovens, and basic electronic testing tools.With good documentation, reporting skills and analytical thinkingAble to read and interpret test resultOutstanding written, verbal communication skills and proficiency in EnglishCan communicate in Dutch is a plusIntermediate level experience in MS Office application and inventory software skillsFlexible in working overtime as neededKnowledgeable and experience working in ANSI / ESD-, ISO 9001- and ISO 14001-certified environment
