    • Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Wisconsin's largest hospital, provides innovative care to patients statewide and beyond, including a 24 / 7 onsite heart-care team. Join our renowned OR TEAM and make a significant difference in patient care every day.

    Schedule / Hours : Full-time, evening shift options of 8 or 10 hours. Primarily Monday to Friday with call responsibilities, including overnight and occasional weekend shifts.

    Major Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques effectively.
  • Assist with a variety of surgical procedures while enhancing your skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure the operating room is clean, safe, and efficiently prepared for each case.
  • Function as a Second Assistant when necessary and respond to equipment and supply issues promptly.
  • Transport patients, equipment, and supplies as needed while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform patient positioning and transportation duties with proper technique.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of patient care tailored to age-specific needs, in line with department standards.

    • Qualifications :

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of employment.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
  • No previous experience is necessary.

    • Skills and Abilities :

  • Understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room equipment.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic proficiency with computers.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and maintaining certifications.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
  • Physical capability to lift items up to 50 lbs, perform sliding transfers, and use foot pedals.
  • Exposure to various hazards, including mechanical, electrical, and biological materials, necessitating protective gear.
  • Capability to perform a range of physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, and bending during shifts.
