Unit Overview :

Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit, providing critical care to patients with a variety of conditions, including :

Post-operative care for craniotomies, AVMs, and tumor resections

Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries

Care for hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients in our Comprehensive Stroke Program

As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII), you will engage with the latest neurosurgical techniques and leading-edge healthcare.

Your Role :

Deliver and oversee comprehensive, evidence-based patient care using the nursing process

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate care

Utilize clinical judgment and critical thinking to support optimal patient outcomes

Contribute to enhancing the patient experience across the care continuum

Major Responsibilities :

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, implement individualized care plans, and evaluate effectiveness

Recognize significant changes in patient conditions and take appropriate actions

Coordinate patient discharge plans with an interdisciplinary approach

Required Qualifications :

Valid Registered Nurse license from the state of practice

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited provider

Completion of an accredited nursing program

A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience

Skills and Abilities :

Ability to provide holistic patient care, focusing on patient and family perspectives

Proficiency in electronic medical records and general computer skills

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements :

Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

Exposure to potential hazards in a healthcare environment, requiring appropriate protective measures
