Structural Engineer - Bridge - Entry Level

Duties and responsibilities :

• Utilize structural analysis software for design, such as : Leap Bridge Concrete, Leap Bridge Steel, Open Bridge Modeler, STAAD, SAP2000, etc.
• Complete design tasks with supervision and learn to work independently
• Coordinate the structural design with other disciplines and construction team
• Become familiar with various structural standards and design codes such as : AASHTO, AREMA, and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) guidelines
• Compile data and perform calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design studies
• Prepare cost estimates
• Prepare construction documents
• Collaborate with Bridge and Roadway Design Team members and all company disciplines
• Conduct bridge inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed

Working conditions :

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
