Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care - $2,144 per week in Saint Louis, MO

Must have a current nursing license. ACLS certification is required. A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is necessary. Experience with hemodynamics is essential. Candidates must be able to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips. Experience with electronic health record systems is preferred. Floating within the scope to meet facility needs is expected. Candidates are required to work 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. Experience with bedside tracheostomies and PEG tubes is necessary. Frequent cardiac outpatient monitoring is part of the job responsibilities. The nurse will be responsible for critically ill patients. Patients may require ventilators, BiPAP, optiflow, vasopressors, central lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, arterial lines, and other advanced monitoring. Duties include arterial line management, assistance with chest tube insertion and removal, management of BiPAP and CPAP, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care, and management of patients with multi-system organ dysfunction. Candidates should have skills in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, as well as management of cardiovascular conditions. Infection prevention practices and isolation precautions must be adhered to. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 : 2.
