Overview :
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Production Technician to join our team. This role involves assembling, wiring, and inspecting electrical control equipment, panelboards, and switchboards according to customer specifications and engineering documentation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tools and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities :
Assemble, wire, fit, and mount sub-assemblies and components in electrical control equipment.
Prepare units for testing and final inspection using established procedures and equipment.
Assemble panelboards and switchboards based on electrical drawings and work instructions.
Perform quality inspections and functional tests to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
Use hand and power tools (e.g., wire strippers, pliers) for electrical wiring and mechanical assembly.
Maintain workflow progress and communicate any issues or material shortages.
Receive, store, and prepare materials and finished products for shipment.
Participate in Lean initiatives and suggest improvements to processes and safety practices.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces according to 5S standards.
Cross-train and support other functions as needed.
Basic Qualifications :
Minimum 1 year of experience in an assembly-related role using hand and / or power tools.
Experience in automotive repair, construction, carpentry, or similar fields will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Experience with CNC bus fabrication, press brake, or similar equipment.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and power flow documentation.
Familiarity with measuring tools, torque specifications, and hardware assembly.
Skilled in using manual / electric tools, drill press, press brake, fork truck, jib crane, and other related equipment.
Position Requirements :
Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to changing production demands.
Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs regularly.
Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to follow detailed manufacturing drawings and instructions.
Commitment to health and safety practices, including active participation in training and meetings.
