Position Summary : The Medication Aide is responsible for the safe and accurate administration of medications to residents, monitoring their health status, and supporting the nursing team in maintaining residents' well-being. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to high-quality care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Medication Administration :Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications according to physician orders and company protocols.Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications in compliance with regulations.Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects and report concerns to the nursing team promptly.Health Monitoring :Observe and report changes in residents' health status, behavior, and physical condition.Measure and record vital signs as needed.Assist with basic healthcare tasks under the supervision of licensed staff.Resident Engagement :Build positive relationships with residents through compassionate care and effective communication.Encourage residents' participation in wellness programs and activities.Safety & Compliance :Follow infection control procedures and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations.Ensure medication carts, records, and supplies are organized, secure, and well-maintained.Respond promptly to emergency situations and assist with emergency care when necessary.Qualifications :
Education :High school diploma or GED required.Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program preferred.Experience :Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare, senior living, or long-term care setting preferred.Skills :Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication administration.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Physical Requirements :Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.Ability to assist residents with mobility and physical support as needed.Certifications & Requirements :Active Medication Aide certification in good standing with the state.CPR and First Aid certification preferred.Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.If you are a compassionate and detail-oriented professional with a passion for providing high-quality care and making a positive impact in the lives of seniors, we'd love to have you on our team.
