Performs a wide range of duties to ensure the safety and security of the Hospital and its patients, visitors, physicians, employees, and others, as well as the property of same, ensuring that all responsibilities are performed in strict accordance with Hospital and / or Departmental Policies at all times.

As part of the AJH Security Team you will :
Qualifications :
Education : High School Graduate or equivalent. Graduate or enrollee in a Criminal Justice program preferred.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities : Observant, paying close attention to detail; Ability to remain calm in difficult situations; Adaptable to sometimes rapidly changing situations; Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures and at various social and educational levels. Basic computer data entry skills. In the absence of a particular skill, colleague must have the ability to be trained to a level of proficiency.
Experience Required : Previous hospital security and or law enforcement related experience preferred.
Licensure / Certification Requirements : EVADE certification required. Maintains American Heart Association BLS certification. Basic Healthcare Security Officer certification from the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) highly recommended after twelve months of employment.

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
