Key Responsibilities
- Preparing BidsAnalyze bid documents to meet all requirements, including bonding, insurance, any wage regulations, and prepare competitive proposals.
- Evaluating Scope of WorkReview project specifications and drawings to determine the full scope of the project and estimate materials, labor, and equipment costs.
- Leveraging Historical DataUse data from past projects to improve accuracy and ensure cost-effectiveness in new estimates.
- Cost EstimationCalculate material quantities and prepare detailed project estimates, including unit prices, labor, and other cost components.
- Recommending Design SolutionsOffer insights on design options that balance cost, quality, and material availability.
- Collaborating with TeamsAssist with negotiations, change orders, and project management by providing technical support and detailed cost breakdowns.
- Final Estimate ReviewEnsure the accuracy and completeness of all final estimate packages before submission.
- Client & Management PresentationsWork closely with project managers and clients to deliver clear and compelling pre-qualification and bid presentations.
- Lead Cultivation: Support lead cultivation and early client engagement by assisting with proposal development, tracking prospective projects and contacting lead opportunities, and providing preliminary estimating support during the sales process.
What We're Looking For
- Education & ExperienceA Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical training. Advanced management or technical training is a plus. Extensive experience in construction estimating for commercial projects is essential.
- Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of estimating processes, Procore, project management, and construction techniques.
- Organizational & Communication SkillsExcellent decision-making, problem-solving, and supervisory abilities. You should be detail-oriented and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Location: This position requires the candidate to work on-site in Fort Myers, Florida.
