Kwaan Bear IT Solutions (KBITS) has immediate openings for a Network Security Engineer to join our team at Fort Gordon, GA.

Position Overview

KBITS is seeking a Network Security Engineer with 5–7 years of hands-on experience to support secure infrastructure operations for a classified DoD customer. This role combines core network engineering and cybersecurity responsibilities within a collaborative mission environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Juniper, Cisco, and Palo Alto firewalls, routers, and switches across classified environments.
• Install, administer, and support LAN / WAN infrastructure, ensuring optimized performance and system health.
• Support remote users with secure connectivity and troubleshoot Layer 2 / Layer 3 issues.
• Monitor system logs, backups, and ensure timely patching and security updates.
• Manage user accounts and enforce access control policies aligned with cybersecurity standards.
• Support incident response, vulnerability mitigation, and risk identification activities.
• Document network procedures, system configurations, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendor support, and mission partners to resolve technical challenges.
• Work independently to manage assigned tasks supporting overall network security posture.
• Installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, and restoration of cyber defense systems
• Assisting in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating the protection of critical cyber defense infrastructure and key resources
• Building, installing, configuring, and testing dedicated cyber defense hardware and systems
