Job Summary : The NDT Quality Specialist III performs NDT and Welding Inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming materials, parts and components used in the manufacture and fabrication of partially assembled or finished components.
Experienced-level position – demonstrates the skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment, to conduct tests, and to interpret, evaluate, and document results with respect to applicable codes, standards and specifications in accordance with procedures. The Specialist III shall be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the method for which qualified and should exercise assigned responsibility for on the job training and guidance of NDT Level I personnel. The Specialist III shall be able to organize and report nondestructive test results.

Essential Functions :
Sets up and calibrates non-destructive testing equipmentConducts tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods of InspectionEstablishes techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulationsApplies testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate resultsDocuments, organizes, and reports test results and enforces reworkConducts and documents process and system audits using written procedures as audit standardsMaintains all controlled document files and test records in a timely and accurate mannerMonitors critical equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation and calibrationParticipates in the construction and / or revision of SOPs for the inspection functionAssists in the writing and updating inspection procedures, protocol, and checklistsEvaluates problems and makes initial recommendations for possible corrective actionParticipates in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc.Perform specialized inspectionsProvides instruction and training to othersWorks closely with the client to identify and remove obstaclesParticipates in client safety initiatives, incident investigations, etc.Assists in qualifying welding personnelRequires regular and punctual employee attendanceWorks safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standardsPerforms other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

Three or more years of experience required; more than five years of work-related experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent with specialized / technical training in Welding Technology and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)Strong welding background with 10+ years’ experience holding multiple welding certificationsExperience working in heavy construction equipment environmentNDT Level II in multiple NDT methodsNDT Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 required; Level 3 preferredNDT Visual Testing Leve 2 required; Level 3 preferredNDT Ultrasonic Testing Level 2 required; Level 3 preferredNDT Penetrant Testing Level 2 required; Level 3 preferredMultiple Welding Certifications requiredCurrent and valid CDL License required; Class B CDL requiredSupervisory Responsibilities :
