The Opportunity
Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Welder to join our advanced manufacturing team. The Welder is responsible for various welding activities within an assigned cell in order to ensure continuous movement of materials throughout the cell. This position is for afternoons or nights.
Additionally, the Welder will :
- Set-up and operation of TIG Welding, Tack Welding, or Automatic Welding equipment.
- Perform reworks as required.
- Manufacture parts according to engineering standards and specifications.
- Perform inspection and / or testing related activities to ensure that parts are welded in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specifications. Visually inspects parts to ensure they are free of burrs or damaged surfaces.
- Maintain proper identification of parts per planning specifications and ensure that accurate and reliable records and documentation are maintained.
- Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment operated.
- Ensure the continuous flow of materials and parts trough the Cell.
- Adhere to all safety standards and regulations.
- Clean, organize and maintain cellular manufacturing work area in accordance with established standards.
- Strive to accomplish team goals and enhance the quality of parts through the reduction of scrap and improvement of throughput.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GEDmonths of experience with MIG / TIG weld.Experience with aerospace materials such as SST, Inconels, Hast X, aluminum, etc. desirable.Must be able to read, understand and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawings and follow planning instructions.Familiar with GD&T specifications and capable of performing basic inspections based on engineering drawings.Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators etc.Attention to detail, ability to perform multiple tasks at the same time.Demonstrates strong organizational and collaborative skills in a fast-paced environment.Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve unique job requests.Must be capable of passing Ishihara Color Blindness ( plates) and Jaeger Level vision testing.Must be capable of lifting lbs. from floor to waist (Note – must use a lift assist or assistance from other individual(s) when lifting in excess of lbs.) Must be capable of pushing or pulling a weight of lbs. Must have grip strength of at least lbs.citizenship is required.Position requires the ability to obtain a Government Security Clearance, if needed.
