Parkland Community Health Plan (PCHP) is seeking an experienced OB / GYN physician leader for a 13-week locum assignment with the intention to transition into a permanent Associate Medical Director role. This is a unique opportunity to step directly into a mission-driven leadership position within one of the nation's largest public hospital systems.
About the Role
As Associate Medical Director, you will take a hands-on, highly collaborative approach to advancing clinical quality, utilization management, and population health initiatives for PCHP members. You'll work closely with senior leadership while influencing care delivery throughout the Parkland ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Review prior authorizations and appeals for medical necessity
- Conduct peer-to-peer calls supporting Utilization Management
- Provide clinical oversight for UM, disease management, and quality programs
- Participate in developing medical policies, clinical guidelines, and coverage standards
- Analyze provider performance and oversee credentialing and quality review processes
- Collaborate with pharmacy leadership on benefit management
- Support fraud, waste, and abuse program oversight
- Represent PCHP with state / local bodies (TDI, HHSC, TMA) as assigned
- Lead or participate in managed care committees
- Drive process improvement, workflow optimization, and quality outcomes
Required Qualifications
Board Certified OB / GYN (no exceptions)Active Texas license or willingness to obtainClean malpractice and license history (highly preferred)Managed care + prior authorization experienceFamiliarity with Texas Medicaid regulationsAbility to lead in a multidisciplinary managed care environmentStrong leadership, communication, analytical, and administrative skillsAbout Parkland Health
