Assists with the overall direction operations and performance of the DH Southern Region Laboratories in the Department of Pathology. Plans organizes and manages section activities and personnel.
This is a full-time 40-hour / week day-shift position. This position requires performing work at our locations in Southern New Hampshire including Concord Manchester and Nashua.
Responsibilities
Assists with the supervision of laboratory staffAssists with functions within lab through various means and practices including but not limited to reviewing and maintaining sections operations to ensure an effective and efficient processing and reporting of workload scheduling section workflow - adjusting staffing coverage to meet demands evaluating the performance of section staff seeking and providing avenues for them to upgrade their job skills etc.Documents implements and maintains standard laboratory procedures for the lab ensuring compliance with the CAP accreditation guidelines. Ensures high-quality test results through hospital and section quality assurance activities. Ensures the safety and security of property and section personnel.Responsible for the overall teaching program in the labs.Oversees technological improvements validations proper utilization and maintenance of equipment and development of new test procedures in aspecialized area.Ensures that managerial policies practices and objectives of the department are achieved within the lab.Assists in preparing implementing and monitoring the annual budget for equipment supplies and personnel.Assists in quality improvement program.Performs other duties as required or assigned.Qualifications
5 years of laboratory experience including 2 years in a supervisory or lead position.Masters degree preferred.Familiarity with regulatory agencies affecting laboratories required.CPT & ICD-9 coding experience and Medicare reimbursement knowledge desired.Required Licensure / Certifications
