Minimum 5 years of demonstrable experience in skilled trade-based jobs. Strong work ethic and goal-oriented. Critical thinker with good organizational skills. Able-bodied with good dexterity and capable of lifting 50 pounds overhead unassisted. Able to work while standing for extended periods. Able to work in a covered shop environment with exposure to seasonal weather changes, dust, loud noises, and in proximity to welding arc flashes. Past experience working as a Plumber, or plumbers helper PREFERRED. High school diploma or GED required. Effective Communication skills. Minimum 3 years of demonstratable experience in skilled trade-based jobs. Possess a clean driving record and able to be ensured on company vehicles. Able to read and understand technical documents. Flexible and adaptable; able to effectively work in a dynamic order-based manufacturing environment. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Able to operate a forklift proficiently and safely. Able to operate overhead cranes proficiently and safely. Able to operate shop-based equipment proficiently and safely $20-24 / hr., based on performance evaluation after completion of the evaluation period. 80 hours of PTO accrued after one year of full-time employment. Manufacturing Technician - Assembly & Quality Control - Baton Rouge, LA
EVALUATION HIRE
$18-22 / hr.
Day Shift 8 am - 4 : 30 pm
Express Employment Professionals, a full-service staffing agency, is hiring a General Assembly Technician for a local client in East Baton Rouge, that produces non-metal water filters.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES for General Assembly Technician :
- Assembling discrete components and processed parts into subassemblies.
- Assembling discrete components, processed parts, and subassemblies into more complex assemblies and subsystems.
- Packaging discrete components, processed parts, and subassemblies into various parts kits.
- Assembling components, subassemblies, parts kits, and subsystems into fully operational systems
- Performing QC tests on work performed.
- Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
- Performing general housekeeping / custodial tasks to maintain a functional work area.
- Packaging and palletizing orders to prepare them for shipment.
- Working as directed to complete assigned tasks.
- Previous Experience with Woodworking Tools and common Hand tools is required.
