Experience : Minimum 1 year
License : Washington State RT License
Certifications : BLS, RT (R), and RT (CT)
Must-Have :
- Rad Badge prior to starting assignment
- Experience with GE CT scanners
Description :
The department has a total of 4 scanners.
There are 2 scanners in outpatient CT, 1 in the emergency room, and 1 in critical care.
Staff will cover emergency room and critical care in rotation.
Possibility of floating to a nearby facility based on need.
Common types of imaging include all CT exams, such as pelvis colonography, coronary scans, and TAVR planning.
The most frequent exams performed are chest, abdomen, and pelvis scans.
The average number of scans per tech is approximately 20 in a day.
Electronic medical records and / or PACS in use include GE Centricity, Philips PACS, and Cerner EMR.
The department does not use Radiology Assistants.
Radiologists are in-house.
Technologists are required to start IVs.
Set shifts are based on need and contract specifications.
Weekend and holiday coverage requirements depend on the shift, as CT runs 24 / 7.
Call or standby requirements for travelers are generally not applicable, though requests may be made based on need.
Dress code consists of navy or gray scrubs or a mix of both.
Department-specific orientation will include organizational modules.
New employees will work with a mentor during the first week to ensure safety and competency.
The hospital allows for the cancellation of up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.
Department operates at a Trauma Level 3 in an acute care setting.
