Schedule

  • Shift : Days
  • Hours : 10-hour shifts (M–F) – facility may assign 8s or 10s
  • Call : Rotating call required

    • Job Description

    Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) to join the Special Procedures team on a 13-week contract. The IR Tech will support all interventional radiology procedures, ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and smooth procedural workflow in a comprehensive stroke–designated facility.

    Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures including vascular, neuro, and image-guided interventions.
  • Prepare procedure rooms, sterile equipment, and contrast materials.
  • Assist physicians during procedures, maintaining sterile technique.
  • Operate fluoroscopy, angiography, and related imaging equipment.
  • Monitor and position patients for optimal imaging results.
  • Document patient information, procedure details, and imaging data accurately.
  • Respond to on-call procedures as assigned (emergent / after-hours).
  • Ensure radiation safety compliance for patients, staff, and self.
  • Coordinate care with nurses, physicians, and other procedural staff.
  • Provide compassionate, professional patient care throughout the procedure process.

    • Requirements

  • Active Texas Medical Board License for Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
  • ARRT certification (RT(R)) required; CI or VI specialty preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 1 year of IR Tech experience (3+ years preferred for high-acuity environment).
  • BLS required (ACLS preferred).
  • Experience in a comprehensive stroke center highly preferred.
  • Ability to take rotating call and respond within required timeframes.
  • Strong technical skills with fluoroscopy / angiography equipment.
