Accountabilities

• A clinical pharmacist is a healthcare professional who specializes in optimizing medication therapy and promoting health and wellness.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Medication Management:
  1. Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate medication therapy.
  2. Prescribe and dispense medications in clinical settings like hospitals and outpatient centers.
  3. Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Patient Education:
  1. Explain treatment regimens to patients and educate them on safe medication use.
  2. Provide counseling on potential side effects and interactions.
• Collaboration:
  1. Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  2. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care plans.
• Research and Development:
  1. Conduct clinical research on new medications and treatment protocols.
  2. Review clinical trials and testing results to stay updated on drug efficacy and safety.
• Compliance and Safety:
  1. Implement safety measures for storing and dispensing medications.
  2. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Must be licensed to practice as a pharmacist.
• Spanish Speaking (preferred)

Strong communication skills and attention to detail are critical for success in this role.
