Provides family and individual mental health counselling/therapy. Provides treatment for mental disorders and psychological conflicts. Helps families resolve emotional, mental and psychological conflicts.

Position: Marriage and Family Therapist
Location: Vallejo, CA
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day Shift, M - F, 8am to 4:30.
Shift per week: 5
Hours per day: 8
Guaranteed hours: 40 hrs. /week

Job duties:

• Meets with entire families and/or individually with family members to assist them with functioning more effectively.
• Counsels families and individuals regarding psychological or emotional problems such as stress, substance abuse, or family situations and develops and implements therapeutic treatment plan.
• Interviews family members to obtain information concerning social history, treatment and other pertinent information. Educates patients and their families about mental illness, treatment plans and resources.
• Facilitates regular multidisciplinary review meetings for the purpose of planning care and assessing the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions, group therapy processes and program components. Discusses progress toward goals such as medication regiment, family relationships, educational programs, and other related problems.
• Completes and maintains individual and group counselling notes and documentation.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Education and Work Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (some certifications will require Bachelor's): Required
Master's Degree: Preferred
Postgraduate experience in acute inpatient or outpatient mental health services, with specific experience in group process and individual counselling: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) or Clinical Psychologist (PhD) licensure in state of practice: Required
Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQI BLS) certification: Required
Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI): Required

Pay for Local: Weekly Gross Pay $2700
Pay for Traveler: Weekly Gross Pay $2900
