As a Senior Manager of Workday Security Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding Capital One's Workday environment. In this position, you will lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of security and reporting measures, ensuring the utmost confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our Workday applications and data. Your expertise in Workday security will provide valuable strategic guidance, helping cross-functional teams navigate security challenges effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
Security and Reporting Implementation : Spearhead the design and management of robust security controls and reporting mechanisms within the Workday environment.
Risk Assessment : Conduct regular security assessments and SOX audits to uncover vulnerabilities and work with the risk management team to implement effective mitigation strategies.
Access Management : Drive the implementation and oversight of role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure users have the appropriate access levels.
Incident Response : Lead investigations and responses to security incidents affecting the Workday ecosystem, including conducting thorough root cause analyses and remediation efforts.
Policy Adherence : Ensure strict compliance with internal security policies and industry best practices while contributing to the development and maintenance of relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Collaboration : Partner closely with IT, HR, Finance, and other departments to comprehend security requirements and effectively integrate security measures into business processes.
Continuous Improvement : Remain updated on the latest security trends and proactively recommend enhancements to improve the security and reporting posture of the Workday platform.
SOX Compliance : Support SOX audit activities by ensuring that Workday security controls are properly functioning and adequately documented for compliance purposes.
Change Management : Oversee change management processes to ensure all changes within the Workday platform are supported by proper documentation, testing, and approvals, while continually seeking process improvements.
Basic Qualifications :
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification
At least 8 years of experience with Workday functional configuration (Core HCM, Security, and Reporting)
At least 4 years in a technical leadership role overseeing strategic projects
Preferred Qualifications :
9+ years of experience in Workday security administration
2+ years configuring SSO with Workday using SAML 2.0 and integrating with enterprise identity providers
Workday Pro Certification in HCM
Workday Pro Certification in Security
1+ year of experience with the Workday Financials security module
2+ years of experience in Agile practices

Cambridge, MA : $193,000 - $220,300
Chicago, IL : $175,500 - $200,300
McLean, VA : $193,000 - $220,300
New York, NY : $210,500 - $240,300
Plano, TX : $175,500 - $200,300
San Francisco, CA : $210,500 - $240,300
San Jose, CA : $210,500 - $240,300
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for performance-based incentives, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
