Distribution Service Representative

Job Summary

The Distribution Service Representative, under the direction of the Transportation Distribution Supervisor, performs the daily activities of picking up client specimens, keeping accurate counts, maintaining the integrity of specimens for delivery to lab, and distributing supplies and other items to clients.

Essential Functions

1. Pick up specimens from clients according to established procedures and timetables.
2. Deliver specimens to designated drop off point(s).
3. Ensure that the integrity of the specimens is not compromised during transport.
4. Deliver reports and supplies to clients on an assigned route.
5. Maintain an accurate log of specimens, reports, and supplies picked up or dropped off on an assigned route.
6. Record clients' requests for supplies and special services, and forward them to the appropriate person or department.
7. Interact with clients on a daily basis, forwards client concerns to coordinator or local supervisor for corrective action.
8. Maintain the highest levels of customer care while demonstrating a friendly and cooperative attitude.
9. Demonstrate flexibility in satisfying customer demands.
10. Perform routine inspection of assigned vehicle (i.e., gas, tires, appearance, fluid levels, etc.). Report any problems to coordinator or local supervisor immediately and maintain accurate monthly logs.
11. Adhere to all safety procedures.
12. Thoroughly understand and participate in defensive driving techniques.
13. Remain current in the training and knowledge of specimen handling.
14. Completes special assignments as required by coordinator or local supervisor.
15. Perform all job responsibilities in alignment with the industry's best security practices and regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected health information and other sensitive company data.
16. Must be familiar with and abide by the Corporate Compliance Program and all Corporate policies, including the Privacy and Security policies.
