General Production / Unloader / Packer

Position Not Public Transportation Accessible!

Pay : $16.30 / hour

Swing Shift : Monday - Thursday, 2 : 15 pm - 1 : 00 am

Job Description :

  • Reviews daily production schedule and reports to appropriate bottling line.
  • Stamps Julian code on outside of cases using had held stamper.
  • Removes sealed and labeled cases at end of bottling line and places on pallet according to appropriate configuration.
  • Requires frequent bending at waist level; some bending to the floor to build pallet.
  • Using a squeeze bottle, distributes glue over layer of cases as part of palletizing process.
  • Builds multiple layers of cases to predetermined level for shipping.
  • Cleans work area by sweeping and removing trash.
  • Assists in other production areas including spice line, labeling, and gift packs.
  • Records information on pallet tags, such as product name, case count, and date packaged.

Requirements :

  • Education / Experience : some high school education, and up to one month related experience and / or training; prior work in food processing or food handling in a restaurant is a plus; packaging experience in production environment is a plus.
  • Language Skills : ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences in English.
  • Math Skills : ability to add, subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement and volume.
  • Reasoning Ability : ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Physical Demands : while performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25lbs and occasionally up to 50lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
