The Good Fork Pub is seeking an experienced chef eager to have fun with a humble menu within the confines of a casual neighborhood pub setting. Our ideal menu includes well-thought out pub house classics as well as simple yet inventive dishes suitable for every night of the week.

It is our goal for the menu to cater toward all allergy and dietary restrictions such as serving dishes designed to be gluten-free without modification. We wish to keep our crowd of regular neighborhood customers and friends excited with consistent special offerings that cater to the changing seasons.

It is crucial that the chef in this role understands the importance of building and maintaining a well-trained team. We ask that you bring experience in hiring, training and scheduling line and prep cooks and dishwashers.

Keeping the various prep areas, the walk-in and the kitchen itself exceptionally clean and adhering to DOH standards is required at all times. Operating a clean and tidy kitchen should come naturally to you and training your team to do the same should be just as important.

Located in the unique destination neighborhood of Red Hook, the restaurant sees dramatic swings in business as nice weather attracts many day-trippers to the area. Summer months are significantly busier and our large outdoor dining areas allow us to serve twice the number of customers as we can in the winter months when restricted to our indoor seating capacity.

The undeniable differences in business between seasons is worth noting because the ability to keep up with a demanding kitchen in the busiest of times is as important as the ability to adjust and adapt to best serve our customers when it gets cold and business slows down.

The chef best suited for this role is someone who not only makes great food but is excited to grow with a team that is fully committed to making this neighborhood pub the best it can be.
