GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

An Estimator position in North Kansas City, MO  is available at Garney Construction. This is a full-time, salaried position with full benefits and participation in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join our growing Estimating Team. To be considered for this position you must have previous estimating experience, preferably in the water, wastewater, or industrial markets. Candidates with proven experience estimating cast-in-place concrete tanks, underground yard piping, and / or above grade process mechanical piping systems. Estimating experience with at-risk self-performing contracts is preferred over construction manager at-risk delivery methods.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Preparing contingency and risk analysis for the estimate and pre-review.
• Analyzing and compiling estimate data that impact the cost of labor, materials, equipment requirements, location, and other factors.
• Communicating estimate bid information to field operations at pre-construction meetings to ensure understanding of scope of job and critical means and methods of construction.
• Developing and maintaining business relationships with owners, small businesses, subcontractors, and suppliers by creating strategic alliances and increase bid opportunities.
• Ability to provide conceptual estimates from limited information.
