Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership in Sioux Falls, SD is looking to hire a full-time Weatherization Specialist / Self Help Rehab Representative to inspect low-income and senior housing, identify HVAC issues needing correction, and oversee the completion of program projects for our non-profit organization. This position earns a competitive wage of $22.25 - $31.41 per hour, depending on education and experience in carpentry or construction. A Day in the Life of a Weatherization Specialist / Self Help Rehab Representative : As a Weatherization Specialist / Self Help Rehab Representative, you interview participants to obtain data relating to household energy use. After performing safety tests on all furnaces, you analyze HVAC systems to ensure proper function. While inspecting areas of the house such as the roof, attic, and basement, you note conditions that contribute to energy waste. After estimating the cost of materials, you complete the work plans and enter audit measures into the National Energy Audit Tool (NEAT) and Manufactured Home Energy Audit (MHEA) software. Once ordered materials have arrived, you instruct contractors and other staff about the technical standards required by the weatherization program. After completion and inspection, you recommend energy-saving measures to participants and respond to any questions regarding the program. Throughout the process, you maintain open communication with co-workers, various subcontractors, and the program director. You find great satisfaction in helping participants improve their quality of housing!

Qualifications : 2+ years of experience or training in carpentry or construction OR equivalent experience, High school diploma or equivalent, Valid driver's license or the ability to acquire one.
