Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $1,913 per week in Charlotte, NC

Job Title : Registered Nurse Profession : RN Specialty : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift : 36 hours Experience : Minimum of 18 months of PCU experience License : Registered Nurse License Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Experience with tracheostomies requiring mechanical ventilation, continuous BIPAP / CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, hypothermia regulation, and titratable IV drips. Description : The facility is a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The unit consists of 36 beds with an average census of 36. Patient types include COPD / Pulmonary Diseases, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Renal Failure, Sepsis, ETOH / CIWA and IVDA. Patient ratios are RN : 1 : 3-4 and CNA : 1 : 9. Support within the department includes CNA for patient care with activities of daily living, vital signs, nutrition, and blood sugar checks. Virtual nursing assists with admissions, discharges, and virtual observation of patients. There is access to a dedicated 24 / 7 pharmacist, case managers, and a clinical nurse specialist available for support. Respiratory therapy services are available 24 / 7 for nebulizer treatments. The unit does not have remote telemonitoring. Nurse educators and intensivists are available around the clock with virtual / on-call options after midnight. Travelers will be required to float within regional needs and will be compensated for travel time between facilities when floating mid-shift. The schedule includes a weekend rotation every other weekend, with holiday expectations requiring travelers to work 75% of the holidays.
