The Night Shift QA Assistant Manager plays a key support role within the Quality Assurance department at Lyons Magnus, an international food and beverage manufacturer headquartered in California. This mid-level leadership position is responsible for overseeing QA operations on the night shift, supporting the QA Manager in ensuring that all products meet food safety and quality standards. The role requires strong knowledge of quality systems, food safety protocols (GMPs, HACCP, SQF), and effective team leadership.

Pay Range : $80,000 - $90,000 per year

Hours : 8 : 00 pm - 5 : 00 am

Schedule : Monday - Friday

(Must be willing to work weekends.)

Core Responsibilities :

• Provide direct leadership to the QA team on the night shift, ensuring consistent execution of quality and food safety standards.
• Serve as the night shift point of contact for quality-related decisions, escalating significant concerns to the QA Manager.
• Support the QA Manager in driving the company's quality agenda and departmental projects.
• Train, coach, and support night shift QA staff, aligning with their Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
• Oversee QA team compliance with established procedures, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with production and QA staff to investigate and resolve deviations from standard operating parameters.
• Assist in reviewing and updating the facility's quality control plans annually and as needed.
• Create, update, and implement training materials (SOPs, VWIs, OPLs) to ensure ongoing compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Help maintain and update the employee skills matrix and ensure appropriate training is completed.
• Ensure lab equipment and measuring devices are calibrated and functioning properly; coordinate troubleshooting or vendor support when needed.
• Support final disposition decisions on finished goods during the night shift, including handling of positive release, rework, or scrap.
• Contribute to the reduction of product defects and lead / support investigations into customer complaints.
• Partner with R&D during night shift trials and commercialization runs, ensuring proper documentation and testing are completed.
• Carry out other managerial responsibilities as assigned by the QA Manager.
