Staff Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role involves managing general ledger accounting, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial statement preparation. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with audits as needed.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end closing.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Assist in preparing financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Calculate and record accruals for property and sales tax.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Assist with tax filings and audits as needed.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely collections.
• Support AP / AR month-end close processes.
• Prepare ad hoc reports and financial analysis as requested.
• Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations.

Work Environment :

This position is based in an office environment, with standard hours from 8 am to 5 pm, along with additional hours as needed. The team consists of four accountants, four plant controllers (each overseeing a business unit), and two staff members. Plant Controllers report to the Finance Manager, while Staff, Seniors, and the Accounting Manager report to the Director of Accounting.

This is a Contract position based out of Deerfield Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits :

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00 / hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
