[job_card.job_description]Facilitate unit operations and support goals by serving as a resource in a designated operating room area / specialty service. Exhibit thorough knowledge of aseptic techniques and advanced surgical practices, ensuring high-quality patient care for elective and emergency situations. Verify the availability and functionality of supplies, instruments, and equipment before surgical procedures, using the surgeon's preference card and other resources to maintain optimal patient care. Deliver safe patient care in alignment with policies, procedures, and standards while managing budgetary considerations, including effective time and supply management. Encourage personal and professional growth by meeting ongoing education and skills competency requirements; serve as a mentor, preceptor, and resource to less experienced staff and contribute to their orientation and training. Demonstrate your commitment to our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences, consistently modeling Memorial Hermann's service standards for safety, care, and efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary
We are offering a full-time position in CVOR from 6 : 30 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday, with required on-call duties. The ideal candidate must possess CST and BLS certifications from the American Heart Association and have at least one year of experience in cardiovascular (open heart) or vascular surgery. This position is based at Memorial Hermann Memorial City.
As a Certified Surgical Technologist, you will provide expert perioperative care utilizing specialized equipment and instrumentation. You will work directly under a Registered Nurse, acting as a scrub assistant to the physician during operative or invasive procedures. You are expected to demonstrate your knowledge and skills to serve as a role model and resource for fellow staff members.
The position requires an understanding of growth and development principles as applicable to various life cycles.
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program.
Licenses / Certifications : Current BLS Certification and Surgical Technologist Certification from either the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
Experience / Knowledge / Skills :
- New graduates welcome.
- Surgical Technologist I = 1 year experience.
- Surgical Technologist II = 2-4 years experience.
- Surgical Technologist III = 5+ years experience.
