Associate Counsel Business Transactions

Maverick Capital Ltd. is an investment adviser with over thirty years of experience advising hedge funds long only funds separately managed accounts venture funds and private equity funds. Maverick is currently looking for an experience transactional attorney to assist its Legal and Compliance team in supporting its Venture Capital business. While the right candidate will be focused on supporting Mavericks Venture Capital business they will also have the opportunity to provide Legal and Compliance assistance to Mavericks other business lines. The ideal candidate will have three or more years of legal experience running venture capital deals will have a business-oriented mindset and is looking to be part of a small but collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support Mavericks Venture Capital team in their efforts to identify interesting investment opportunities by helping to spot and mitigate issues
• Work with Mavericks Venture Capital team to draft review and negotiate venture capital deals throughout the venture capital life cycle
• Along with other members of Mavericks Legal and Compliance Team advise portfolio companies on corporate governance equity compensation commercial contracts and strategic transactions
• Assist with fund formation LP agreements and internal governance
• Become an integrated member of Mavericks Compliance Program by performing testing and advising on relevant issues
